If there’s one thing a man should often challenge his woman with its to be ready in 10 minutes.I can remember one night I was with a friend who had just been given exclusive tickets to an event. I knew my woman at the time longed to attend this event but I wasn’t quite sure whether giving her such late notice was enough to get her to the event.Stuff it, I thought. If she can’t get ready in 10 minutes then there’s something wrong with all those makeup commercials that guarantee beautiful this and that in 10 seconds flat. We haven’t got long!!HER: Is this joke?ME: Woman, I’m telling you we’re in the car driving towards your house as we speak and we have three tickets in our hot little hand.MY FRIEND: (yelling) HURRY!!ME: You’d better hurry you’ve just wasted 30 seconds…HER: I’m not going to be able to get ready in 10 minutes!ME: Woman, you’ve got no choice.

Imagine having such a passion for your job that even when you are dying, you feel compelled to come back to work. I work 50 hours a week for a Fortune 500 Company, earn a good salary for my position, roam the streets of perhaps the most beautiful city in the world and am on the inside track to promotions. I want to wake up energized to go to work and leave every day feeling that something important, something that would make life easier was accomplished because of me. I don’t care to work at some big shot law firm in Manhattan and spend double as much time on even more useless legalese. Public policy touches everything in our lives and it’s too important to wait for the next generation to fix the problems that persist in our society today.Well at least that’s what I tell myself as I look forward to another evening spent filling out online applications, honing essays and resumes and forking over donations to schools willing to spend a few minutes perusing my application.Currently listening to: Garden State SoundtrackCurrently reading: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn (my nightstand book)

All the MCs are dressed up as old men, and they are at a salsa night in what looks like a community hall, with the actual Roll Deepers up on the stage doing the tune, like they were at a Sidewinder or something. The tunes got a nice base line with a slow paced beat thats lets the MC really get in your face and use their flowing lyrics to keep the tune moving, you can’t help but get into it especially with the eerie chorus.

Ontological Me: What if God were one of us?

Array The principle is:Employees who feel recognized, rewarded, respected, empowered, educated and armed with the tools that they will need to succeed, will out perform unrecognized, unrewarded, disrespected, un-empowered, and under educated employees with poor tools every day of the week.In fact, I would argue that if you recognize, reward, respect, empower, educate and provide the best tools for each of your employees you will create a team of top performers that can set your company apart from the competition. The Magic Meetings are separate weekly meetings held on a consistent schedule with a main purpose of motivating their staff.Your Magic Meetings can be of any topic that interests your staff, and that relates to your business. Magic Meetings worked wonders for the success of my cleaning business, and I know that they can work for yours too.Now it’s time for a little plug. If you like this idea, but are a little short on time to plan out a year’s worth of Magic Meetings for your staff, then you may be interested in my Employee Motivation Kit - Inspiring Employees to be Top Performers. The kit includes Magic Meetings designed specifically for service businesses, including presentations, group discussions, team functions, a contest, games, work parties, and trainings.

Got the perfect job (the first one I applied for). The only thing missing were the 5 perfect mormon babies. I was going to live for ever in the Cestial Kingdom (mormon for heaven) with my perfect family.

So I used to be a mormon. Now I am more of an atheist. Right now I am fighting all the things the mormons told me were true. I am defining my own truth. I love existential philosophy. My favorite author is Neitszche. I suspect I will quote him alot in this blog as he is the basis for my search for truth and my creating of myself. So here is a little NeitszcheFree, do you call yourself? Then I would hear your ruling thought, and not merely that you have escaped from a yoke. Are you one of those who had the right to escape from a yoke? Many a one has cast away his last worth when he has cast away his servitude.Free from what? What does that matter to Zarathustra! But your fiery eyes should tell me: free for what? You will be a heretic to yourself, and a sorcerer and a soothsayer, and a fool, and a doubter, and a reprobate, and a villain. You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame

I bought an 8 week subscription to the Star, not because I want to stay better informed, need to recycle more stuff, or can’t find news online, but because two junior high boys came to my door during poker and gave me that look, the one I’m a sucker for at school, the look that says, “Would it cause you internal bleeding to help me out?” So yeah. Read some more poetry!Sonnet 98William ShakespeareFrom you have I been absent in the spring,When proud-pied April, dressed in all his trim,Hath put a spirit of youth in everything,That heavy Saturn laughed and leaped with him,Yet nor the lays of birds, nor the sweet smellOf different flowers in odor and in hue,Could make me any summer’s story tell,Or from their proud lap pluck them where they grew.Nor did I wonder at the lily’s white,Nor praise the deep vermilion in the rose; They were but sweet, but figures of delight,Drawn after you, you pattern of all those.

Had a strange time actually swimming and studying in a school trying to experiment with itself and us of course.Sometime in the middle of all that i had to begin to choose an identity for myself at least to the effect that i side with either of the two major communities at school maru’s as the marwari’s are perhaps not so lovingly called and the bangali, that i was supposed to be and accept as my true identity. So there i was slowly becoming a ‘rockabaaj’ a term normally used to refer to young unemployed youth who would sit on a comfartable ‘rock’(normally an old fashioned smail staircase to usher people into the house and talk about anything to everything under the sun, form gossip to hardcore arguments in national politics. My freedom to move about the city too grew with time and it was the puja’s that really made me feel that one need not be an ethnic ‘bengali’ to be a calcuttan. But Puja’s always overwhelmed me with it sheer liberal nature and all embracing-ness that the bengali could do with for the rest of the year too, the sheer economics of seven days Puja in kolkata makes up for more than half of its annual economic transaction( or so i think !)High school and college were however devoted to fests, quizzes, plays, romance and of course loads and loads of dope.

The latest controversy related to govt is related to education sector reservation. There are different possible reasons for it.Government policy is not reaching to people who are bright and unable to provide for the education expenses as majority people stay in villages and small towns where general standards of education are really questionable and disgusting at best.Because of these reservations the general mindset in community is they get job even if they are not very good academics. More over it reduces competitive instinct from these students that are in danger of lacking for ever.So what is solution?Best way is reservation of Economically Backward classes (EBC) rather than caste based reservations. This will ensure needy gets the support and politicians can not play vote bank politics.Second most important thing is improve the quality and availability of education at grass root level and rather than creating mark getting machines create citizens with different abilities.

Someone said they’d rather be rich and miserable rather than poor and miserable. I think that miserable is miserable and your bank account and/or toys don’t make much difference. Married couples will tell stories of their first homes and how inadequate the places were.We feel a sense of pride in how we existed in the midst of squalor, of near-poverty, of make-do. We look back with some warm feelings on how we hung in there until better times came along. I think she ought to get a job in a garage, changing people’s oil and filters, doing inspections and getting dirty.

Array It was too dark in there for Darlene’s camera to get a good image, but there it is.[Note: Moments after I made the above post, a series of terrorist attacks brought all London to a standstill at the height of the morning rush hour. At 8:51 AM, A bomb rocked a London Underground train just leaving Liverpool Street station toward Aldgate. (In a remarkable twist of irony, former New York Mayor Rudolph Guiliani was in London, having breakfast very close to Liverpool Street when the attacks began.) Five minutes later, a second bomb halted an Underground train between the Russell Square and King's Cross stations. As the day wore on and news leaked out, I made the following posts:]1:00 PM—EMERGENCY UPDATEThe coordinated terrorist attack (news reports are reporting seven major explosions) hit central London just minutes after Darlene and I left Adrian Warnock at the train station this morning. Authorities have also closed Central London so that the Underground trains and buses cannot go in or out. Believe it or not, the London bombings barely disrupted the conference. (I briefly considered doing a special message in the final hour on the goodness of divine providence even in disaster, but on second thought decided to go ahead with my message on as planned, on justification by faith from Philippians 3:9.)I’d love to give a summary of every message from the conference, but that would take too long, and I couldn’t do justice to any of the messages in such a short space. Here are just a few highlights:On Wednesday morning, Pastor Chris Buss gave a brilliant message from 2 Corinthians 5:20 on the need to persuade unbelievers with the gospel. He’s a delightful person, and always interesting to hear.Today, in the earliest afternoon session, Dr. Peter Masters gave a message on evangelistic preaching that made a perfect complement to Chris Buss’s Wednesday morning message. Dr. Masters said that John Murray, by contrast, seems to regard conversion as so much the work of God that the believer’s mind is, in effect, totally passive and may even remain unconscious of the change that has occurred.Dr. Masters at one point said of Redemption: Accomplished and Applied that in his assessment, about 25 percent of it is hyper-Calvinistic. At least one of London’s morning newspapers already has an early edition that reports 53 dead. Our doctor friend, who works in a hospital in central London but not in the immediate neighborhoods of any of the bombings, reports that multiple victims with amputated limbs have been admitted to that hospital.

It’s Erev Rosh Hashana, the sun almost completely hidden below the horizon and I find myself in a dialysis center in the middle of nowhere with Max.We had been invited to spend Rosh Hashana with friends in a bungalow colony in the Catskill Mountains. Each of us is convinced that the other’s failure to prepare directions represents a serious defect in the other’s personality. With sunset quickly approaching, I decide that we have no choice but to park the car and continue by foot. After around five minutes of walking, we spot a squat, rectangular one-story building with a sign at the top that reads “Sullivan County Dialysis Center.”The inside of the dialysis center is the most depressing site I have witnessed in my life. Max and I do not discuss the incident at all over the holiday and I don’t think we discuss ever again.Years later, Max would spend months and months in beds in a series of sterile, depressing medical institutions just like the Sullivan County Dialysis Center.

USC scores on next possession for the win.-1990 Michigan St. beats Michigan as one of the most mind-boggling calls (or non-calls) in sports history negates a last second Michigan score.-1994 Michigan controls Colorado for the entire game sans one miracle Hail Mary.-2000 Michigan appeared to be headed for victory as Travis Dorsch missed a fg with 2:11 seconds left. Michigan appeared to have won the game after stopping Michigan St. on 4th and 16 but Jeremy LeSueur was called for a personal foul giving Michigan St. a fresh set of downs. Michigan’s conservative play calling prevented Michigan from scoring again as Texas stole the game with Vince Young running all over the M defense. There seems to be a blueprint for a Michigan heartbreaking loss. Since 1988, these are the games where Michigan grasped defeat away from the hands of victory (or at least was close enough in the 4th qtr to flirt with victory):Texas 2005, Iowa 2003, Oregon 2003, Notre Dame 2002, Michigan St. 2001, Washington 2001, Northwestern 2000, Purdue 2000, UCLA 2000, Illinois 1999, Alabama 1997, Northwestern in 1996, Texas A&M in 1995, Michigan St. in 1995, Colorado in 1994, Wisconsin 1993, Illinois 1993, Notre Dame 1993, Notre Dame 1990, Michigan St. 1990, Iowa 1990, USC 1990, Notre Dame 1989, Notre Dame 1988, Miami 1988That’s 25 heartbreaking losses out of 46 total losses. 33 times (or about two games per year) the Michigan fan base has had a reasonable expectation of victory only to see the Wolverines lose.Even worse than losing 33 times to a lesser ranked team is the fact that Michigan has lost 12 times (or 26%) to teams that were unranked! Here is the breakdown of losses to each team:7 to Notre Dame 15 % of losses since 19885 to Ohio St. 11% of losses since 19885 to Michigan St. 11% of losses since 19883 to Northwestern 7% of losses since 19883 to Iowa 7% of losses since 19883 to Penn St. 7% of losses since 19882 to USC2 to Washington2 to Purdue2 to Illinois2 to Wisconsin1 to Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, UCLA, Syracuse, Alabama, Florida St., Colorado, Texas A&M,The seven losses to Notre Dame probably explains why so many Michigan fans despise the Fighting Irish. 58% of the losses came to Notre Dame, Ohio St., Michigan St., Northwestern, Iowa, and Penn St. Considering that Notre Dame, Ohio St., and Michigan St. are the three primary rivals, it certainly hurts that they’ve accounted for more than a third of the losses. Each team has beaten Michigan at least twice.Six of the losses have come to Pac-10 teams. From the data above, it can be said that Michigan loses to a select group of teams. Bowl Games:14 of 46 (31%) of the losses have come in non-conference regular season games.7 of 46 (15%) of the losses have come in bowl games.25 of 46 (54%) of loss have come in the Big TenSo, 46% of Michigan losses have come to non-big ten teams despite Michigan playing twice as many games against the big ten as all other teams.

Here is only some of what the Convention requires of medical personnel: Excerpts From the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (1949) Article 129: Deaths of internees shall be certified in every case by a doctor, and a death certificate shall be made out, showing the causes of death and the conditions under which it occurred. At that time death certificates were produced:The May 2004 death certificates appear to have been finalized for the press conference rather than completed during the routine work of the pathologists. Most bear preliminary signatures dated within a week of the death, but 17 of 22 certificates for deaths occurring between 2002 and 2004 were finalized within 9 days of the press conference. It appears that he used 1 pen and signature mark to simultaneously put a preliminary signature on certificates dated August 22, 23, and 25, 2003 and on October 23 and December 2, 2003, and then finalized those same certificates on May 12, 2004 with the same pen and hand stroke. James Caruso used the same signatures on his 3 death certificates and signed one for Jerry Hodge on May 13, 2004.Vital forensic evidence that could have resulted in criminal proceedings against military personnel who murdered prisoners was mishandled by the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology’s Office of Medical Examiners that made prosecution difficult or impossible:The Office of Medical Examiners did not develop adequate procedures for preserving evidence for trial.

[NEWS HEADLINE BELOW]Yes, Virginia, there is a Bubbie and Zadie!Internet News AgencyDecember 13, 2006Norfolk, VirginiaTwenty years ago, when Susan Anderson was given a cassette tape of a children’s Hanukkah story titled Bubbie and Zadie Come to My House, her first child Ryan was about a year old and the family, including Anderson’s husband, Jim, began listening to the tape every Hanukkah at their home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In the story written by children’s author Daniel Halevi Bloom, Bubbie and Zadie — Yiddish words for grandma and grandpa — embody the spirit of all grandparents. Still, Jillian always waited for Bubbie and Zadie to visit. Then in 2005, when her children had grown to be 21, 17 and 8 years old, Anderson saw an article in a newspaper and read that Bubbie and Zadie were the main characters in a children’s book written by Bloom and originally published in 1985.Anderson searched all over forthe book, and finally, like so many children who have written to Bubbie and Zadie over the years at the author’s invitation, Anderson wrote directly to the elderly couple — their address was in the newspaper article — on New Year’s Day 2006.We still hide the presents under the bed each night, so she does know about them, Anderson wrote, referring to her daughter, Jillian, and then her two boys. And they would get a letter in return, for free. The letter idea took off, The New York Times wrote about Bloom in 1983 in a feature story by Nadine Brozan, he wrote a book about Bubbie and Zadie in 1985 and then came the audio tape in 1987 — the same tape that Anderson first listened to 18 years ago.Bloom understood Anderson’s passion for the story. The fiftysomething Boston native is the author of seven other children’s books and has worked in several countries as a cartoonist, a newspaper editor, a public relations consultant and freelance journalist.Anderson’s letter, he told the Virginian-Pilot, gave him a kick in the tuches [behind], and that he tried hard to find a new publisher to bring Bubbie and Zadie back into print again.Bloom had taken the story to 30 new publishers over the previous five years, and they all said no thank you.One day, by email, Bloom got in touch by email with Rudy Shur, head of Square One Publishers in New York. Who knew?bubbie.zadie@gmail.com You can read a short excerpt from the book, online and free, here:http://bubbieandzadiefiles.blogspot.com* SNAIL MAIL ….FOR HANDWRITTEN LETTERS TO BUBBIE AND ZADIE: please write before December 15:Bubbie and Zadie’s Mail Box115 Herricks RoadGarden Park City, New York 11040Nationwide 2006 Reuters NEWS STORY about BUBBIE AND ZADIE:http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=entertainmentNews&storyID=2006-11-22T153541Z_01_N20492238_RTRUKOC_0_US-LIFE-LETTERWRITING.xml&WTmodLoc=EntNewsHome_C2_entertainmentNews-7………………………………………………………..ANNOUNCEMENT…. to all children and all adults:SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS about Bubbie and Zadie in your life:This website will give you a chance to write a letter to Bubbie and Zadie, by snail mail or email, about anything you want to write to them about.

The putative class plaintiff has now appealed, arguing that prudential standing tests are only appropriate when considering whether to expand Lanham Act standing beyond direct competitors; Among the interesting points raised, plaintiff argues that the existence of potential consumer plaintiffs ought not be part of the prudential standing inquiry, since consumers lack Lanham Act standing even if they can sue for other torts. I like this argument, and it fits well with another point in the brief, which is that the harm to the consumer (the difference in value between what a consumer paid for and what s/he received, or perhaps what s/he would otherwise have bought) is different from the harm to the competitor, who loses the full value of a sale.

-ne From Foreign Policy Magazine:Is the United States winning the war on terror? In the face of persisting threats, including a growing number of terrorist attacks around the world, numerous reports show that Americans are losing faith in their government’s ability to wage the war successfully and to protect them from the terrorists’ next volley. Barely half of Americans today approve of the way in which the war on terror is being handled, and more than one third believe the United States is less safe today than it was before 9/11.These pessimistic public perceptions could easily be attributed to the high cost, in both treasure and lives, of counterterrorism efforts. The FOREIGN POLICY/Center for American Progress Terrorism Index is the first comprehensive effort to mine the highest echelons of America’s foreign-policy establishment for their assessment of how the United States is fighting the Global War on Terror.

Sample of Interactive Blog Parts Sample of Game Blog Parts Sample of Utility Blog Parts

This last decade an amazing one. Some Highlights:- Fell deeper in love with email. I remember when my neighbors brought up the Highlands Chain idea, the concept of a local internet community with email, I said, what a stupid idea. A wild ride indeed.-Taking the plunge to direct and loving it. (Thank you Judy Stone.)- Spent years getting a local school referendum passed. Along the way some surprising, deeply satisfying friendships. The small town love and beauty of Garrison and Cold Spring, NY. (Thank you Healers: Mhairi, Karen Gorney, Linda Blaikie, Teresa Peppard, Karen Greathouse, Allison Anderson.)-A serious committment to yoga and now pilates. Coming from a place I loved to a place I love even more! Loving Austin with its great energy, wonderful people, and quality of life. Immersing fully into the Austin Film Society, proud to be part of its rich history and vital present.-My friends. But funny, and kind, and loving too.

Truth must never be allowed to gain momentum or be exposed, which is why truth seekers must be made examples.
